Multiquip’s New MQ Whiteman WTB-16PD Tracked Power Buggy Features 16-Cubic-Foot Pivot Dump Tub

Multiquip has announced its new MQ Whiteman WTB-16PD tracked power buggy for concrete work. Its 16-cubic foot (0.45-cubic-meter) dump tub can pivot 180 degrees using a hydraulic cylinder and rack and pinion system. Hand and foot controls govern the rotation and dump operations of the machine’s 2,500-pound (1,134-kilogram)-capacity tub.

“This new pivot dump buggy provides users with greater dumping control and is especially practical in challenging terrain,” says MQ Whiteman Product Manager Warren Faler. “Additionally, operators will appreciate our dual hand levers and foot controls that minimize fatigue common with other designs.”

The 2,138-pound (970-kilogram) buggy is just 35.6 inches (904 millimeters) wide, so it can fit through doorways and tight spaces. Its tub is made of polyethylene to make it easy to clean out. An idler wheel keeps tension on the hydraulic hose as the tub rotates to avoid chafing.

The WTB-16PD uses high-torque hydraulic motors to drive its steel-imbedded ladder tracks, which ride on ductile cast iron guide wheels for durability. Thanks to a 22-horsepower (16.4-kilowatt) Honda GX690 engine, the buggy can reach travel speeds of up to 5.3 mph (8.5 km/h) when unloaded and 4.7 mph (7.6 km/h) with a load. Its braking system is of the fail-safe type for safety reasons.
