Wirtgen W 100 F(i) To W 130 F(i) Milling Machines Get A New Enclosed Cabin Option
Wirtgen is now offering a new, fully enclosed cabin option for its F-Series W 100 F(i) to W 130 F(i) compact cold planers. The manufacturer, part of the roadbuilding equipment company Wirtgen Group, says that the comfortable workstation reduces operator fatigue and helps maintain concentration and productivity for a longer period of time.
Come In Out Of The Cold
The new cab available for the Wirtgen W 100 F(i) to W 130 F(i) cold planer lineup is pressurized to keep dust and dirt from entering the workspace. A cabin air filter removes particles and pollen before they become problematic.
Automatic temperature control comes courtesy of the cab’s well-designed HVAC system. Besides providing the operator with protection against the weather, the cabin also reduces the noise of the cold planer’s milling drum and diesel engine, according to Wirtgen.
Because the cab is designed to be so quiet, it should make it much easier to converse on a hands-free phone during operation. The operator can also communicate with coworkers on the site using a radio headset or by opening the side window.
Wirtgen says it made the new cab according to the latest ergonomics practices. It is also lockable to deter theft or vandalism.
Wirtgen’s F Series
The W 100 F(i) to W 130 F(i) segment of Wirtgen’s F Series of compact planers uses a 345-horsepower (257-kilowatt) diesel engine and can mill asphalt to a depth of up to 13 inches (330 millimeters). Milling width for these models ranges from 3.25 to 4.25 feet (1 to 1.3 meters). Their operating weights vary from 46,077 to 49,163 pounds (20,900 to 22,300 kilograms).
