Streumaster Debuts New MC & TC Series Spreaders With Dual Rapid Filling Devices & Updated Controls
Streumaster has announced its new MC and TC Series binding agent spreaders with precision dispensing features and a high-speed filling device on both sides. They can spread small quantities of binding agent for cold recycling applications as well as large quantities for soil stabilization.
The TC Series are towed models, and the MC Series are mountable on trucks that can handle off-road conditions. The letter “C” in their series names stands for cellular wheel spreading units. The spreaders come with self-cleaning dosing sluices and a new control panel.
Fill ‘Er Up
Streumaster designed the containers of the new TC and MC spreaders for rapid pneumatic filling and even distribution of the binding agent inside. Silo trucks can move in close to either side of a spreader and fill it at a rate of up to 2 tons or 2 metric tons per minute per connector, according to the manufacturer.
An optional automatic filter system eliminates dust from the filling procedure. The spreaders’ OptiPower chain conveyor drive has an automatic load control feature that increases the tensile force on the conveyor chain as needed.
Binding Agent Distribution
The TC and MC Series provide fully automatic volumetric dosing of the spreading quantity independent of the truck or trailer’s travel speed. The self-cleaning dosing sluices have three cellular wheels and a special housing with pressure and relief zones and flexible chambers. The operator can operate all three cellular wheels for a maximum spreading width of 7.75 feet (2,360 millimeters), or individually adjust or stop any of the three wheels to reduce spreading width.
Streumaster offers an optional WeighTronic weighing device that can automatically maintain a precise discharge rate for the binding agent. Another option, the Wirtgen Performance Tracker, logs the amount of binding agent used and other operating details of each work site for documentation and analysis.
Centralized Control
The spreaders’ new multifunctional panel brings all the controls of the TC and MC Series together in a single 12-inch touchscreen display. It has a customizable user interface, so operators can save their personalized settings for function keys and operating parameters. A user can also set up a split-screen arrangement when the spreader’s camera system is activated.
Model Specifications
The towed model SW 112 TC has a 424-cubic-foot (12-cubic-meter) capacity, an empty weight of 13,669 lbs (6,200 kilograms), and a spreading rate of 1.8 to 111 pounds per square yard (1 to 60 kilograms per square meter) at a 1.2-mph (2-km/h) travel speed, depending on the selected spreading unit. Its big brother, the SW 218 TC, has a 636-cu ft (18-cu m) capacity, an empty weight of 18,519 lbs (8,400 kg), and a spread rate of 9.2 to 111 lbs/sq yd (5 to 60 kg/sq m). Its tandem trailer has dual axles, whereas the smaller SW 112 TC comes on a single-axle trailer. The mounted spreaders’ onboard hydraulic system can be powered by the pulling tractor’s Power Beyond hydraulics or by an optional wide-angle cardan shaft or add-on engine.
The truck-mountable MC Series includes the SW 318 MC, SW 418 MC, and SW 422 MC with capacities of 636 to 777 cu ft (18 to 22 cu m). Each has a spread rate of 3 to 150 lbs/sq yd (1.6 to 81.4 kg/sq m) at 1.2 mph depending upon the spreading unit. Empty weights for the MC Series range from 10,141 to 11,023 lbs (4,600 to 5,000 kg). The spreaders can receive power from the carrier vehicle’s power take-off (PTO) or an optional engine.
