The 19,500-pound (8,845-kilogram) Maudlin 1860, for example, features a 110-horsepower (82-kilowatt) Tier 4 Final Cummins diesel engine, dual operator stations, a four-auger material feed system, and a hopper with a 9.5-ton (8.6-metric-ton) capacity. It also has a 22-gallon (83-liter) fuel tank, 30-gal (114-l) hydraulic tank, 7.5-gal (28.4-l) washdown tank, and 5-gal (19-l) DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) tank. This machine supports paving widths of between 8 and 16 feet (2.4 and 4.9 meters), paving depths of up to 6 inches (15 centimeters), and a maximum paving speed of 140 feet per minute (43 meters per minute). The 1860’s travel speed maxes out at 250 fpm (76 m/min).
Mauldin’s asphalt distributor range includes the Precision Spray truck-mounted unit as well as towable MT300 and MT600 asphalt distributors and MU-600 and MU-1000 maintenance units. The MT300 and MT600 use the same base unit with 300- and 600-gal (1,136 and 2,271-l) tank capacities. They feature a hydraulic, reversible asphalt pump, 20-in (51-cm) manhole for top loading, 5-ft (1.5-m) cold hand sprayer with 40-ft (12-m) hose, separate wash down solvent tank, and the choice of heating via diesel burner or propane. Mauldin also offers an optional 8-ft (2.4-m) spray bar with in-cab controls.
