About Roadtec

Roadtec was founded in Dalton, Georgia, in 1981 as a manufacturer of asphalt pavers. The company acquired the Barber-Greene company in 1986 and expanded its line to include milling machines and material transfer vehicles. Roadtec sold the Barber-Greene line in 1991 and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to manufacture Astec Industries’ complete line of road building equipment. Today the company offers a wide range of paving equipment, including asphalt pavers, screeds, brooms, cold in-place recycling machines, milling machines, road reclaimers, and material transfer vehicles (MTVs).

Asphalt pavers from Roadtec include 8- and 10-foot models and come in rubber tire, rubber track, and steel track variations. Roadtec has three types of MTVs with asphalt mix capacities ranging from 10 to 25 tons and can handle additional surge volume of hot mixed asphalt from both live bottom and end dump trucks to allow a crew’s paver to operate continuously. Roadtec’s milling machines can come with optional bolt-on packages to equip them for cold in-place recycling. The company also offers soil stabilizers and road reclaimers, as well as a telescoping asphalt broom and several screed options.
