    About Stationary Concrete Mixers

Stationary concrete mixers, also sometimes called “fixed concrete mixers,” sit on a solid pedestal and can be found in a large range of sizes and come in both drum and volumetric versions. Volumetric mixers have separate storage for each component and enable the operator to release precise amounts of each to the mixing chamber, whereas with drum mixers all the elements are placed in the drum, which then rotates to form concrete.

    Stationary vs. Mobile Mixers

    SICOMA-OMG MP Planetary Mixer

Like their towable, walk-behind, and self-propelled counterparts, stationary concrete mixers use a rotating drum, paddles, or an auger to uniformly combine aggregate, water, and cement to form concrete. Unlike the mobile versions, these concrete mixers are not moved around the jobsite. Stationary concrete mixers often have a larger capacity than the smaller walk-behind and towable mixers and are used for projects where a large batch of concrete is needed in one location, such as producing pre-cast concrete molds or on large-scale infrastructure projects.
