Dynapac’s Single-Arm CC900S Offset Roller Compactor Gets Up Close To Walls & Curbs
Dynapac’s new CC900S is a self-propelled, double-drum roller compactor that is uniquely designed to work up close to walls, sidewalks, guardrails, and other obstacles. It can do this because the right-hand edge of its front drum is free and offset by 2.36 inches (60 millimeters). Dynapac recommends the asphalt roller for smaller pavement projects such as cycle paths, narrow roads, and small parking areas.
Up To The Edge
Not only can the CC900S compact close to fences, railings, and other features on the jobsite, it can also easily steer away from those obstacles without the need for a vibratory plate. The machine has a maximum operating mass of 3,759 pounds (1,705 kilograms).
The new CC900S tandem vibratory compactor has a drum diameter of 23 in. (584 mm) and a drum width of 35.4 in. (900 mm). The operator can shut off the vibration of either the front or rear drum as needed. A standard sprinkler timer can limit the flow from the large, 29-gallon (110-liter) water tank.
A 23.5-horsepower (17-kilowatt) Perkins diesel engine powers the CC900S. The compactor can operate at up to 5.6 mph (9 km/h). For safety’s sake, the Dynapac comes with a standard rotating beacon, backup alarm, and a foldable rollover protection system (ROPS) with a seat belt. Operator accommodations include a comfortable seat, a cup holder, and work lights for visibility day or night.
