Dynapac’s New F1250CS Plus Compact Paver Maximizes Operator Comfort & Safety
Dynapac has built on the success of its F1250CS compact track asphalt paver with new features, resulting in the new F1250CS Plus. The new model combines adaptability for urban paving projects, low operating costs, and high uptime. Among its operator protection and comfort features are redesigned side engine doors that direct heated air away from the screed operator.
The F1250CS Plus can produce walkways, bike paths, underground garages, and alleyways with 19.7- to 137.8-inch (0.5- to 3.5-meter) paving widths and paving thicknesses from -5.9 to 7.9 in. (-150 to 200 millimeters).
Adaptability Is Paramount
The 7.7-ton (7-metric-ton) Dynapac F1250CS Plus, with a track width of just 44.9 in. (1.14 m), can fit into narrow milled sections of pavement. The compact paver can pave below zero and drive out of the cut, leaving a smooth finish behind.
The F1250CS Plus has a 47.2-in. (1.2-m) basic width, which is extendable to a 137.8-in. (3.5-m) maximum width with quick-coupling extension boxes. The machine can also narrow its paving to a 19.7-in. (0.5-m) width for trenches and small paths using reversing shoes.
Dynapac opted to equip the new paver with a hydrostatic direct drive system rather than a mechanical transmission. Its independent travel drive allows the F1250CS Plus to turn on the spot, pave at up to 88.6 ft (27 m) per minute, and travel at up to 2 mph (3.3 km/h).
Dynapac describes the paver’s material-handling system as “generous” with a proportional flow of material. Its asymmetrical, 3.3-cubic-yard (2.5-cubic-meter) hopper has hydraulic front flaps and can buffer up to 5.5 t (5 mt) of asphalt. The machine’s overall width is just 4.6 ft (1.4 m) with the hopper closed, allowing it to maneuver through some doors and tight spaces.
The manufacturer says the F1250CS Plus can theoretically place up to 331 t (300 mt) of asphalt per hour with high mat quality. Its wide tunnel houses a split, reversible conveyor that’s 24.4 in. (620 mm) wide with a center cover. The paver’s proportional control of the conveyor and 12.6-in. (320-mm)-diameter auger automate the amount of material transferred throughout the paving process. The hydraulic auger has an optional height adjustment for better control, accuracy, and operator comfort. Dynapac says the F1250CS Plus can reduce segregation in the hot mix even with large stones.
Intuitive Controls
The dashboard of the F1250CS Plus is easy to learn to use, says its manufacturer. With the operator platform folded up, the paver is ready to be transported or to pave near a wall, to which the machine can work as close as 3.9 in. (100 mm). The user experiences an 86-dB(A) sound pressure level at the operator’s station, while the paver’s overall sound capacity level is 104 dB(A). The platform has a backrest with a locking storage compartment. The paver also offers power ports for USB, 24-VDC, and 230-VAC devices.
An optional RC360 remote control allows operators to stand where they can see the work to be done and/or stand upwind from its fumes. Ergonomic, adjustable shoulder straps make the remote control more comfortable to use throughout a shift, according to Dynapac. If the operator is using the remote control and tilts it more than a 45-degree angle or moves more than 33 ft (10 m) away from the paver, an automatic safety switch will turn off the paver’s 4-cylinder, 74.3-horsepower (55.4-kW) Deutz engine. The diesel motor is available in a Tier 4 Final- and EU Stage V-compliant version and others according to their intended markets.
The V2400TV/V2400TVE Screeds
The V2400 screed for the F1250CS Plus paver is available in gas-fired or electrically heated versions, which Dynapac says is unique in the market. The user can set the desired screed temperature on the paver’s dashboard, such as the same temperature as the asphalt mixture.
The V2400TV and V2400TVE come with extension boxes for wider paving widths. A single, two-way crank on top of the side shields adjusts both their height and angle. The screeds’ angle of attack and deep bottom plates are also adjustable. Their strong tamper and vibratory plate deliver outstanding compaction in fewer roller passes, even with thick layers, the manufacturer says.
